Backstage Weekly 61 - BackstageCon recordings, KubeCon wrap up
By Jorge Lainfiesta • October 31st, 2022Hi y’all! in this newsletter, I share my favorite talks and experiences last week in Detroit at BackstageCon and KubeCon.
BackstageCon talks are up!
Totalling eleven talks, BackstageCon was packed with great content ranging from adoption experiences to extending Backstage beyond its core functionality. Personally, my favorite talks were:
- The Evolution of Backstage Backend, where maintainers shared how they reason about the system and overviewed the design changes making their way into the framework.
- Building an Internal Developer Platform with Backstage, where Taras shared his vision on how he sees Backstage integrating deeper into the daily life of developers, even at the IDE level.
- Leading Architectural Change with Backstage, where Andy makes an acute diagnosis of why orgs struggle in their Cloud journey and how Backstage helps tackle most challenges.
- How We Scaled Catalog Ingestion to Hundreds of Thousands of Entities, where Damon explores the thought-provoking case of HP adopting Backstage at a scale that I had never imagined before.
But don’t take my word for it! check out all the talks, including my lighting talk!
Roadie customers don’t have to worry about the evolution of Backstage backends. Roadie keeps your instance upgraded and packed with extra features. Request a demo!
Backstage in Detroit
Backstage made its way to the center stage last week in Detroit, as maintainers, contributors, and adopters deepened their relationship and shared their excitement about the framework with the wider Cloud Native community. I wrote a blog post about our experiences (and share some more photos). Check it out!
Talk to you next week!
